Sam Warning's goal with 16 seconds left in the first overtime gave the host Quad City Mallards a 3-2 win over the Fort Wayne Komets tonight and kept the Mallards alive by preventing a four-game Komet sweep of the Central Division semifinals and forcing a fifth game tomorrow evening.

Warning pounced on a loose puck in front of the Komet net to give the Mallards a dramatic victory and cut Fort Wayne's series lead to three games to one.

The Mallards rebounded after the Komets erased a 2-0 Quad City lead earlier in the evening. Mike Wilson scored the second Mallard goal on a 2-on-1 rush at 1:12 of the second period, but Jason Binkley would trigger the Fort Wayne rally from the slot at 4:46 of the second. The Komets were on the power play when Jamie Schaafsma tipped in the tying goal just under five minutes later.

Josh MacDonald opened the scoring just 31 seconds into the game when he drove the puck home from the left wing boards but the Mallards and Komets would battle for nearly 80 more minutes before Warning finally ended the contest.

The Mallards host game five at 7:05 p.m. tomorrow night. Should a sixth game be required, the series will shift back to Fort Wayne next Monday.. If the series goes to a seventh game, the Komets would host the deciding contest next Wednesday.

Tickets for game five are now on sale at the iWireless Center box office, Ticketmaster outlets, ticketmaster.com and Ticketmaster charge-by-phone toll free at 1-800-745-3000. The box office is open weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
