MALLARDS FINALIZE SEASON OPENING ROSTER

The Quad City Mallards have unveiled a 21-player active roster for the start of the 2017-18 season, the Mallards announced today.

The Mallards’ season-opening roster consists of 12 forwards, seven defensemen and two goaltenders. In addition, forward Kyle Novak and defenseman Kyle Bigos will start the season on the Mallards’ reserve list.

Forwards: Alex Globke, Tristan King, Garrett Klotz, Keegan Kolesar, Justin Kovacs, Brayden Low, Josh MacDonald, Ryan McGrath, Matt Pohlkamp, Michael Pontarelli, Jamie Tardif, Sam Warning.

Defensemen: Greg Amlong, Kyle Follmer, Jacob Graves, Kevin Kirisits, Alexander Kuqali, Chris Leibinger, Ales Sova.

Goaltenders: Ivan Kulbakov, C.J. Motte.

Eight players on the active roster or on reserve (Follmer, Kovacs, Kuqali, Leibinger, MacDonald, Motte, Novak and Warning) return after playing for the Mallards last season.

King, Klotz and player/assistant coach Tardif are the Mallards’ three veterans- players with better than 260 games of professional experience. Seven Mallards are rookies: Kirisits, Leibinger, McGrath, Novak, Pohlkamp, Pontarelli and Sova.

The Mallards open their twenty-first season- and their fourth in the ECHL- tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m. against the Toledo Walleye on home ice. Mallards 2017-18 season tickets are still available.
