Six different players scored for the host Wichita Thunder in a 6-3 defeat of the Mallards, for whom Triston Grant, Gergo Nagy and Matt Pohlkamp scored in an ultimately unsuccessful rally.

Mark Cooper scored twice and Matt Robertson provided a goal and two assists as the host Kansas City Mavericks held off the Mallards' comeback bids to claim a 5-2 victory. 
 
QUACK TRACKS
Thirteen
The Mallards are winless in their last 13 games. The Mallards have gone 0-11-2 since defeating the Mavericks 5-3 on December 2 in Kansas City. The Mallards’ current skid is the longest winless streak in team history and the longest in the ECHL this season. The Mallards’ longest prior winless streak was seven games. They went 0-6-1 between February 21 and March 15, 2022 in the Colonial Hockey League and between October 24 and November 14, 2021 in the International Hockey League. The Mallards’ winless run has surpassed the Rapid City Rush’s ten-game streak between December 1 and December 22 as the league’s longest this season.
 
On the Road
The Mallards, who last weekend completed a stretch of three straight away games, have lost nine consecutive road games. That dip is the longest away regulation losing streak in team history. The Mallards dropped six consecutive away games between November 5 and December 10, 2021 in the United Hockey League.
 
Home Cooking
The Mallards are winless (0-4-3) in their last seven home games. They last won at home when they defeated the Indy Fuel 2-1 in overtime on November 12. The Mallards’ current drought is the longest home winless streak in team history. The Mallards’ longest prior home winless streak was five games, which they endured four times, most recently when they went 0-3-2 between February 18 and February 26, 2022 in the UHL.
 
Central
The Mallards have played 16 of their last 17 games against division opponents and will also play their next four games against foes from the Central.
 
Five
The Mallards have allowed at least five (non-shootout) goals in each of their last four games.

The Mallards rank twenty-seventh in the ECHL in goals per game (2.2).
 
Outside the Box
While the Mallards were called for a team season high 32 minutes in penalties Saturday in Kansas City, they remain the least penalized club in the ECHL, averaging just 9.5 minutes in the box per game.
 
Uphill
The Mallards twice battled back within one goal after falling behind by a pair Saturday in Kansas City but could not complete the comeback.
 
You Again
After scoring Saturday night, Ryan McGrath has now produced goals in each of the Mallards’ three games in Kansas City this season. McGrath recorded points (one goal and one assists) in each of the Mallards’ two games last weekend.
 
Worth the Wait
Nagy, who rejoined the Mallards last month after previously playing for the club in 2013-14 in the Central Hockey League, Friday night scored his first goal for the Mallards since he struck for a pair on March 29, 2022 in a 5-0 win over the St. Charles Chill. 
 
O from D
Greg Amlong recorded three points (one goal and two assists) in the Mallards’ two games last weekend, scored his first Mallard goal and posted his third multiple-point game of the season Saturday in Kansas City and has now notched seven points (one goals and six assists) in his last eight games after registering just a single assist in his first 17 games.
 
Helping Hand
Willie Raskob is tied for third among rookies in assists (18) and is tied for ninth among defensemen.
 
Between the Pipes
Matt O’Connor took the loss in goal in each of the Mallards’ two games last weekend. 
 
Milestones
Tristan King has 94 career goals.
 
Special Teams
The Mallards rank twenty-second in the ECHL on the power play (13.9 percent) and twenty-sixth in penalty killing (78.0 percent). They have gone without a goal on their last 18 man advantages. They had successfully completed nine straight penalty kills before surrendering three Kansas City power play goals Saturday. In addition, the Mallards Saturday allowed a shorthanded goal- on a Shawn Pauly penalty shot- for the tenth time this season.  
 
Head to Head
The Mallards have gone 3-2-0 against Indy this season. The Mallards have won each of their first three home games against the Fuel. The two clubs will meet 11 times this season. All-time the Mallards have gone 13-12-0 against the Fuel overall and 9-3-0 at home.
 
Ins and Outs
Forward Josh MacDonald departed the Mallards to sign with Sternen in Norway and was placed on the Mallards' suspended list Saturday…Defenseman Alexander Kuqali (upper body injury) has missed the Mallards’ last 12 games while on injured reserve retroactive to December 3.

The Mallards will join forces with WLLR-FM The Quad Cities' #1 Country for Country Night. The Dani Lynn Howe Band will perform live immediately after the game.

Fox Sports Radio 1230 is the radio home of Mallards Hockey Presented by Genesis Orthopedic Hospital. Mallards games broadcast on AM 1230 also stream live online at www.wfxn.net. A limited number of Mallards games will not air on Fox Sports Radio 1230 due to conflicts with University of Illinois basketball and football and Green Bay Packer football. ECHL-TV pay-per-view video webcasts and free audio webcasts of all Mallards games are also available at myqcmallards.net. 
 
MOBILE
The Mallards’ official mobile app is now available free for both Apple and Android. The box office is open weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and on game days from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the second period.
