The Quad City Mallards have traded forward Nolan LaPorte to the Florida Everblades in exchange for future considerations, the Mallards announced today.

LaPorte, 25, scored 14 goals and added 30 assists for 44 points in 65 games as a rookie last season.

“Nolan requested a trade to Florida after last season to be closer and more available to his parents who live not far from the Everblades’ arena,” said Mallards coach Phil Axtell. “We’d like to thank Nolan for being part of a memorable season here in the Quad Cities and wish him the best of luck in the future.”

Before joining the Mallards, the 6-foot, 192-pound LaPorte spent four seasons at Western Michigan University, where he scored 33 times and collected 37 assists to total 70 points in 133 career collegiate games.

The Mallards will open their twenty-first season- and their fourth in the ECHL- on Friday, October 13 against the Toledo Walleye at the iWireless Center. Mallards 2017-18 season tickets are now available. Season ticket holders enjoy significant savings of the walk-up ticket price and receive a host of exclusive benefits.
