In his role as the Mallards' director of hockey operations, Jon Piche oversees player transactions, player immigration matters, salary cap compliance and other areas related to hockey operations. Piche first joined the Mallards as athletic trainer for the 2012-13 season after graduating from the University of Iowa. Piche boasts ample hockey experience having first volunteered for and then interned with the training staff of the Colorado Eagles, who competed against the Mallards in the Central Hockey League before moving to the ECHL in 2011.
